Technical, Economic, and Legal Aspects
Theft of signal affects the cable operator by lost revenue, by reducing the quality of signal for the entire network, increasing maintenance and supervision costs, but also lost copyright owners royalties, lost tax revenue for the fiscal authority, and lost taxes for the regulatory bodies. How big is the phenomenon in Romania? Which is the legal framework for fighting the theft of signal? What measures to discourage illegal connection to the cable networks are in place and what is needed to reduce "theft of signal"?

The supply of content to the cable operators’ networks reached more than 104 channels, which exceeds the transmission capacity of most of the networks in place. Out of the total, 76 are international channels, out of which 22 are localized either by dubbing or by subtitling. The Session provides a space for the channels to present themselves.
